Pamporovo is considered to be one of the sunniest places in Bulgaria – it enjoys clear and cloudless sky 240 days annually. During the hot summer months Pamporovo is the place to escape from the busy urban life to the tranquility and freshness of the mountain. Wide range of excursions (Shiroka Laka, Gela, Bachkovo and Bachkovo Monastery, Asenova Stronghold, Smilyan), hiking tours (Chepelare, Wonderful Bridges, Smolyan and Smolyan’s Lakes, and Pozhen Observatory) and active mountain sports will add value to your stay.
Cave fans will need to dedicate more than one day if they want to explore all caves they can find in the region: Uhlovitsa, Yagodinska, Devil’s Throat, Haramiyaska and many others. Fans of Astronomy will have the chance to visit one of the two planetariums in Bulgaria, which is situated only 15 km from Pamporovo in the maintown of the region - Smolyan. |
